GFC: Grim Fandango 2

LucasArts is
currently producing two adventure games. Apparently one is original and one is a sequel to
an existing adventure game. Look at the post at 06.09.2000 (further down this page) for my
opinions. However, with the recent explosion of Grim Fandango purchases, at sites such as Amazon.com, the possibility of a GF2 has been brought up a notch or
two. Also, if PC Gamer are correct (see previous post) then
it is very likely that the sequel is indeed GF2.Oh, and that Indy 4 movie has been
bumped back to probably a 2003 release. It is rumoured that Michelle Yeoh is being
considered for Indy's counterpart.

The UK PC Gamer magazine has reportedly said
that Grim Fandango 2 is currently in production. They mention that it looks better than
Grim Fandango (1). Hopefully more news on this topic will be available soon.

Grim Fandango is number 4 in sells
over at Amazon.com Is this enough to show that there
is still adventure gamers out there? Pretty impressive to be beating out newer games like The
Longest Journey, and others. The only 3 other games ahead of them: 1) The Curse
of MI (Yes, another adventure game!) 2) The Sims 3) The Sims 'Livin
Large.

Escape From Monkey Island has debuted on
the Top Twenty list as number 17 on NPD TRSTS
Reports for the week of 11/5/00 courtesy of GameWeek.com. Very impressive for such a 'niche'
market, eh? Hopefully this will send a message to LEC, we want more Adventures! - MixnmojoEscape From Monkey Island proves that even in todays world of 3D
FPS, that a sequel to an existing adventure game can in fact make a big splash in the
industry. This can only help persuade LucasArts to do the
same for other adventure games, namely Grim Fandango.

LucasArts
latest picture of the week contained a picture of a unseen Grim
Fandango screenshot. Is it enough prove for a possible Grim Fandango 2? I think
that poll had something to do with thie screenshot. To see the new and unsolved screenshot

In a poll at LucasArts.com,
based on people's favourite adventure game, Grim Fandango is coming
first. Good news for GF(2) fans. All of this sort of public acclaim can only help the
chances of LucasArts creating a GF2.

During an chat with LucasArts president, Simon
Jeffrey, he said that LucasArts are working on some sequels to existing adventure games.
Currently DOTT and Sam & Max
are not being considered, which leaves Grim Fandango as one of the top
alternatives. Other possibilities are Loom, Full Throttle, The Dig, however, I
think that an Indiana Jones adventure is much more likely
than these other possibilities, especially if there is another Indy movie being filmed
next year.
So in my opinion I think it is down to either GF or Indy. Your thoughts?
